Who we are looking for:

The Outside Facility Supervisor is responsible for maintaining the safety, functionality, and organization of all exterior areas within the auction property. This role ensures the lot, roadways, and operational spaces are clean, accessible, and secure while supporting efficient vehicle flow and auction operations. The Outside Facility Supervisor plays a critical role in protecting company assets, maintaining a professional appearance, and ensuring a safe environment for employees, customers, and vendors.

What you will do:

  • Actively and consistently support all efforts to simplify and enhance the customer experience.
  • Lot & Property Maintenance
    • Oversee the condition and upkeep of all exterior areas including vehicle lots, sale lanes, parking areas, roadways, fencing, and signage.
    • Conduct daily inspections of the property to identify hazards such as potholes, fluid spills, debris, lighting outages, or damaged infrastructure.
    • Coordinate and/or perform minor repairs to maintain safe and functional lot conditions.
    • Ensure proper drainage and address weather-related impacts such as snow, ice,or standing water.
    • Maintain cleanliness of the lot, including removal of trash, parts, and abandoned materials.
  • Vehicle Flow & Lot Organization
    • Support efficient vehicle movement throughout the property, ensuring lanes, staging areas, and parking rows remain clear and organized.
    • Work closely with operations teams to support vehicle check-in, movement, and post-sale transitions.
    • Identify and resolve congestion or flow issues that could impact operations or safety.
  • Property Security
    • Conduct regular patrols of the auction property to ensure security of vehicles, equipment, and facilities.
    • Monitor gates, perimeter fencing, and controlled access points to ensure proper operation and restricted access.
    • Identify and report suspicious activity, unauthorized access, or safety concerns.
    • Partner with management to enforce security protocols and lot control procedures.
    • Assist with incident reporting and documentation as needed.
    • Monitor day-to-day alarm activities, including securing buildings and responding to alarm calls.
    • Work closely with office management to identify and resolve any security issues or concerns.
    • Monitor and review video from the surveillance cameras.
  • Operational Support
    • Collaborate with departments such as operations, reconditioning, and security to support daily auction activities.
    • Assist with special projects such as lot reconfiguration, overflow management, or large sale preparation.
    • Ensure all maintenance equipment is properly maintained, stored, and ready for use.
    • Maintain logs of inspections, repairs, and incidents.
    • Other duties as assigned.

What you will need:

  • Ability to read, write, speak and understand English.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • 3-5 years of experience in lot operations, property maintenance, or a related field preferred (auto auction or automotive environment strongly preferred).
  • Experience in supervising other people. This role will have 4-5 direct reports.
  • Familiarity with vehicle flow, lot organization, and outdoor operations.
  • Basic mechanical or maintenance knowledge is a plus.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, outdoor environment.
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods across large outdoor areas.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Frequent bending, stooping, and reaching.
  • Ability to operate company vehicles, carts, or light equipment.
  • Flexible schedule required, including early mornings, extended hours, and occasional weekends.
  • Candidate will be First Aid, CPR and AED trained and willing to perform First Aid when needed
