POSITION SUMMARY

Manages the mechanic shop, arbitration, locksmith and post-sale inspections. Responsible to see that vehicles are processed in a timely manner. Provides resolution to problems that arise in this area.

Sells repair work to dealers.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Schedules work load for the most efficient use of equipment and staff.

• Participates in the auction process and troubleshoots as necessary.

• Participates in staff meetings providing direction and support for the growth of the company.

• Increases customer base through networking with area auto dealers and advertising.

• Communicates with other departments and/or customers providing service estimates.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

COMPETENCIES

• Must be familiar with automotive service computer programs.

• Must have excellent customer service skills.

• Must be able to prioritize work to meet the weekly auction schedule.

• Must be up-to-date on OSHA requirements and able to train employees as needed.

• Must be able to control supply inventories based on needs.

• Must be able to communicate well with all levels.

• Must be able to counsel and discipline in line with all federal and state laws.

• Must be able to develop a supplier network based on quality and cost.

EDUCATION

• High school diploma or its equivalent as a minimum. Associate's degree or higher in business or related degree preferred.

EXPERIENCE

• At least three years as a service manager or in a comparable position.

• At least two years of supervisory experience.

• Ability to learn company-specific computer programs.
