Pricing Manager, Transportation
ACV
Who we are looking for:
ACV Transport is seeking a strategic and data-driven Pricing Manager to lead and develop our transport pricing strategy. As the first hire dedicated to pricing within our team, this role offers a unique opportunity to build a foundational function that supports scalable growth, operational efficiency, and customer and carrier satisfaction.
You will be responsible for owning and optimizing our pricing models across all transport offerings, driving insight through financial analysis, big data, and collaboration across teams. With millions of quotes issued monthly to tens of thousands of customers, pricing is the engine of our business—and this role sits at the heart of it.
This is a high-impact “player-coach” position, ideal for someone who’s equally comfortable rolling up their sleeves in data and modeling, mentoring teammates, and communicating across business functions. If you’re a self-starter with a bias toward action, this is a high-visibility role where you’ll have a seat at the table and the opportunity to drive large-scale business results.
What you will do:
- Actively and consistently support all efforts to simplify and enhance the customer experience.
- Own and manage all aspects of transport pricing across Dealer Rates (e.g., Base Rates, Rate Cards, Lane Rates, Special Deals).
- Develop, maintain, and optimize financial models to evaluate rate structures and profitability.
- Design and execute data models that consider market conditions, seasonality, volume fluctuations, FTL vs. LTL, and more.
- Lead pricing-related communications with internal stakeholders and, where appropriate, external customers.
- Proactively identify pricing levers to improve business performance, partnering with Product & Tech teams to implement enhancements.
- Develop KPIs, reporting tools, and escalation frameworks for multiple teams to ensure pricing policies are implemented effectively.
- Lead analysis and strategy development for Carrier Rates, including contract rates, load negotiation, and rate adjustments.
- Establish and manage the end-to-end pricing evaluation and governance process.
- Oversee periodic reviews of pricing lanes and deals, making recommendations for updates based on performance and risk.
- Collaborate closely with Sales, Operations, and Product to ensure pricing processes align with customer expectations and operational realities.
- Stay informed on industry trends in the transportation, logistics, technology, and automotive sectors.
- Mentor and coach team members across operations functions that interact with pricing.
- Partner with senior leadership to provide pricing insights that inform broader business strategy.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
What you will need:
- Ability to read, write, speak and understand English.
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Analytics, or Information Systems required
- 7+ years' experience in pricing, analytics, financial analysis, or sales operations/deal desk.
- Advanced financial modeling and analytical skills; strong command of Excel.
- Proficiency in SQL and Tableau or other BI tools.
- Strong decision-making, negotiation, and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to influence cross-functional stakeholders.
- Experience working with big data and making recommendations based on complex analysis.
- Excellent negotiation, and influencing abilities
- Proven ability to build strong relationships and collaborate across departments.
Compensation: $109,000.00 - $140,000.00 annually. Please note that final compensation will be determined based upon the applicant's relevant experience, skillset, location, business needs, market demands, and other factors as permitted by law.
